Employment OpportunitySheridan Nurseries Glen Williams Farm is actively searching for a:Spray TechnicianSeasonal, Full TimeAbout the JobReporting to the Assistant Manager of Growing, the Spray Technician is part of the IPM team and responsible for ensuring the health of our nursery stock through routine application of pest control products. This is a contract position for the duration of our growing season (Spring to Fall).Your Accountabilities

  • Apply crop treatment safely and efficiently, including the spraying of pesticides.
  • Maintain and calibrate spray equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Promote a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Able to join other work crews as priorities require.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Tractor experience required. Forklift and other machinery operation experience would be an asset.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, your Grower Pesticide Safety Certification.
  • High standard of professionalism with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Resourceful and self-directed with the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple demands, setting priorities, making decisions, and exercising best judgment.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks and situations with effective time management skills.
  • Punctual and dependable, highly valuing honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Valid class G Ontario driver’s license.
  • Availability to work full-time hours including weekdays, with some evenings and weekends as seasonal peaks require.
  • This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
