SALARY: $21.86 - $28.59 per hour as per the Collective AgreementJOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the School Principal, in conjunction with the Manager, DECE, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will be responsible in accordance with the Education Act to work in collaboration and in partnership with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day early learning program, which may include the extended day program, within a classroom setting which will enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development.The Designated Early Childhood Educators will work as team of professionals to listen, communicate, and provide feedback as deemed appropriate with the families.QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:q Two year community college Diploma in Early Childhood Education.q Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.q Valid certificate in First Aid and CPR.q Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day learning program.q Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public.q Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful and emergency situations and to take appropriate actions based on established Board policies and procedures.q Experience in planning and implementing age appropriate programs for children.q Strong computer organizational and time management skills.q Must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds.These positions are covered under CUPE Local 5200.01 Collective Agreement.Those interested in applying must submit a résumé detailing qualifications and experience along with a minimum of two (2) professional references, a current criminal records check that includes the vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last six (6) months and a current Catholic Pastoral reference.The Halton Catholic District School Board will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment process to applicants with disabilities.
