Job Description

Contract Human Resources opportunity just North of Sherwood Park!Agilus is recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist in the oilamp; gas industry in Gibbons, Alberta. Our refinery client requires an intermediate-level Human Resource Generalist to join their team on a contract basis. Reporting to the Manager, HR, this role is accountable for providing a wide range of direct client-partner services; however, most specifically compensation management, policy administration and compliance, employee relations support and internal HR team support. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise complex performance management issues, corrective behaviour consultation and terminations, and be a focal for workplace investigations from initiation to appropriately resolving
  • Support change management initiatives; and create and facilitate HR training programs such as Respectful Workplace, Supervision Training, Code of Conduct, as well as other HR initiatives as required
  • Participate in special projects and other responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to regular presentations to staff, on-going performance management support, and assistance with staff planning activities
  • Supports other members of the HR team in back up capacities
  • Management of all compensation requirements such as coordination of the annual merit and incentive programs for the business; including benchmarking and preparation of merit recommendations
  • Apply a wide range of total compensation analysis and advice, job evaluation recommendations to the design and delivery of compensation programs, policies and services for salaried and hourly work groups
  • Provide front-line HR consultation on all HR related matters, including interpretation of HR policies to all levels of staff while providing proactive advice and recommendations
Requirements:
  • Understands, creates and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others; adheres to the organization #39;s Core Competencies to drive results and culture
  • Minimum of eight years human resources work experience in a generalist function
  • A university degree is preferred, in Business/Commerce or Human Resources focus
  • CPHR membership is an asset
  • Previous experience in compensation management; prior experience and exposure to employee relations in a hands-on role
  • Must be committed to continuous professional development with a passion for learning
  • Must be a team player: willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information and guidance
  • The successful candidate will be subject to drugamp; alcohol screening and criminal background check.
