The Ward Clerk is responsible for fielding telephone calls, directing visitors and will coordinate any changes of the operating room schedule; such as daily bookings from Surgeons for Emergency / Trauma cases and notifying team members of any issues regarding immediate action.The successful incumbent organizes and prepares statistical reports for the Operating Room Surgical cases for Eastern Zone (start/finish times, cancellations, emergency bookings, etc). This position also includes creating purchase requisitions, data entry through SAP, and maintaining accurate documentation of implants / records within the Surgical Care Unit. They will be responsible for the daily ordering of case carts, as well as collaboration with Health Records / IT Information System to ensure reporting mechanisms are accurate and appropriate. The Ward Clerk will prioritize needs, handle matters expeditiously, proactively following through on projects.
