We continuously push the boundaries of design and quality with a constant focus on providing high-performance solutions and value.In our Ottawa design center, we create a wide range of products, including Home Theater Receivers, Audio Processors, Mono - Stereo- and Multichannel Amplifiers, Sound Distribution Systems and subwoofer pre-amplifiers and amplifiers sold under Anthem, Paradigm and MartinLogan brands. Each of our products is a masterpiece of engineering. We have expertise and capability to go through all stages of the product development, from in-house design to in-house manufacturing, from ideas and concepts to best products on the market that fuel the ambiance of concert halls in living rooms!Paradigm Electronics is seeking a talented and motivated Electronics Engineer to join our Ottawa team. Working under the System Engineering Lead, the ideal candidate should have a solid technical foundation in electronics engineering, preferably with vast exposure to electronic hardware and design experience. Preferred areas of expertise include the consumer electronics industry, particularly with audio or video processing equipment.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to define hardware requirements.
  • Design, prototype, test, and optimize circuits to achieve exceptional audio performance.
  • Work closely with software engineers to ensure seamless integration and compatibility between hardware and software components.
  • Partner with PCB layout designers and mechanical engineers to refine designs.
  • Test hardware prototypes, analyze performance data, and conduct board and system bring-up.
  • Prepare detailed analytical and performance reports for review and revision.
  • Measure and enhance system designs to comply with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including system and subsystem specifications, testing procedures, and production instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose issues, and recommend repairs or design modifications.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Implement maintenance, repairs, and modifications for existing products.
  • Stay current with advancements in audio and video technology and design trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor #39;s or Master #39;s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • You are doing board-level circuit design (digital, analog and mixed signals) and EMI compliance testing for a living
  • You have a Sherlock mentality when it comes to finding root causes for electrical performance and EMI-related issues
  • Well-organized and attentive to details.
  • Good communicator and easy-going person.
  • Knowledge of audio electronics – experience with analog and digital audio: signals and formats
  • Knowledge of embedded systems- Experience with MCUs and SoCs: signaling, common communication buses and protocols, JTAG-based debugging
  • Knowledge of C and Python
  • Familiar with Audio Precision test equipment
  • Familiar with Altium Designer
