He/she will work with corporate QA to identify areas of deficiency and drive quality improvement. He/she will supervise the local QC staff to provide quality assurance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following: Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)Responsible for site Quality Management System and Food Safety programSupervise QC to assure customer satisfaction with Goderich products.Supervise the laboratory including: personnel, results, reporting. (Note: Lab analysis and testing by the Quality Supervisor will be necessary for lab coverage, training, and investigation.)Participate in immediate resolution to customer issues.Manage the communication and follow-up of customer quality issues for the site.Identify areas of deficiency and drive improvement.Remain current and serve as site expert in pertinent product regulatory requirements.Maintain communication and liaise with pertinent product regulatory agencies.Identify deficiency with Goderich SOPs. Instruct and assist with the development, documentation and control of SOP’s.Participate with corporate quality to brainstorm, promote, and drive continuous improvement in Compass quality systems.Work with corporate quality to identify, maintain, and report concise, encompassing metrics that communicate quality performance at Goderich site.Plan and perform quality audits of Goderich Plant and other Compass sites.QualificationsQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and/or Experience:A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science field is preferred, while a degree in Food Science and/or quality will be considered.Demonstrated experience in quality systems and tools (statistical methods, FMEA, control plans) is preferred. Candidates with advanced degrees may also be considered.Direct experience in, or administration of, quality and/or food safety systems (GFSI, AIB, ISO 9001, etc.), and production and laboratory procedures is desired.Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
