This busy department runs 24/7 and part-time staff can expect to be scheduled for a minimum of 45 hours in a two week pay period.We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible as applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis. Assessments and appointments may take place prior to the closing date and time of this notice. The closing date and time on this notice of job opportunity is subject to change. We may extend it if we do not have enough candidates apply or shorten it if we have a large number of candidates apply.Qualifications:Medical Office Administration DiplomaOther College or University with willingness and commitment to take Medical Terminology Course within 6 months of hireRequired Skills:Recent related work experience as a Clerk and Switchboard Operator or Medical Office experience preferredHospital experience preferredExemplary customer service skillsExcellent interpersonal and teamwork skillsAbilities:

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and changing priorities
  • Ability to perform scanning duties
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and desire to work in a team environment
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Computer literate and thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Hospital Software experience an asset)
  • Customer focused and have a track record of positive patient relations
  • Demonstrated good health and attendance record
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Must be able and willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as needed
  • Professional demeanour and excellent attendance are required
  • Sort, prepare, review and file various documents
  • Well organized and demonstrates initiative
