As a dedicated member of the Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) team, you have the opportunity to have a significant role in providing nutritious, healthy, high quality meal service to patients, residents, and the community. Make a significant impact on patient and resident focused health care as a Nutrition Food Service Worker. This position will be accountable for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a quality patient, resident and customer experience. Under the general supervision of a Supervisor, you will be responsible to use strong customer service, teamwork and organizational skills to prepare, handle, portion and package food and beverages, assemble trays. Serve meals in a dining room setting, provide patient meal delivery and pick up. Order and put away unit supplies. Safely operate and clean industrial food service equipment, adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines. Complete other food service duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and accuracy, work under pressure in high stress situations. Communicate effectively in English with patients, co-workers, and other hospital departments on matters related to patient meals, snacks, nourishment supplies. Work as an effective, professional team member. Demonstrate a patient first approach. Perform basic math functions to measure out food portions.Description:As a Cook I, you will be responsible for food preparation, portion and assembly, and serving of menu items with limited supervision. Your typical duties may include preparing multi-ingredient recipes from raw ingredients using various cooking techniques and established recipes, preparing meals using precooked products utilizing various re-thermalization techniques and ensuring meals are appropriately portioned. You will follow AHS guidelines for quantity and quality controls, food safety standards, and established cleaning and sanitization practices to ensure the cleanliness of cooking equipment and work areas.
