ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCYSCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 91 (NECHAKO LAKES)TEACHING PRINCIPALSHIP FOR BABINE ELEMENTARY SECONDARY SCHOOLApplications are invited for the Teaching Principalship of Babine Elementary Secondary School, Granisle, BC. This is a term position effective August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022.QUALITIESDemonstrated ability as an effective instructional leader, with successful administrative experience;A willingness to work collaboratively with staff, parents, First Nations Bands and the community to develop leadership that enhances student achievement;Awareness and sensitivity to current educational issues, reflective professional practice and the changing nature of instruction;Demonstrated knowledge of current research in instructional practices related to early literacy and numeracy;Demonstrated knowledge of effective behaviour support systems and practices;Demonstrated knowledge of special education and current teaching strategies and programs to support learning assistance and special education students;Demonstrated ability as a team-builder and team-player, and in strengthening/maintaining a Professional Learning Community;Demonstrated knowledge of current assessment strategies and practices;Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing strategic school planning that aligns with the District Strategic goals;Commitment to school/community involvement;Knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and learning, as well as a successful history of working with Aboriginal students and their communities;Knowledge of school contractual and budgetary matters and working knowledge of computers; andCompleted, working on or committed to completing a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field.BABINE ELEMENTARY SECONDARY SCHOOL:Approximately 40 FTE students (K-12); (70% Aboriginal students); 10 teaching and non-teaching staff members;Located in Granisle, BC;An active, involved Parent Advisory Council plays an important role in supporting and developing a healthy school community.THE SCHOOL DISTRICT:Offers an excellent Principal contract and benefit package.Qualified candidates should forward their application, applicable documentation, and a brief statement of educational philosophy to:Manu Madhok, Superintendent of SchoolsSchool District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) - P.O.
