Job Description

Boart Longyear is an international manufacturer and supplier of drilling products and services. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician in North Bay, Ontario. Working in the shop as well as in field locations, you will maintain and repair equipment designed by Boart Longyear.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions
  • Constructing foundations for machinery
  • Assembling machinery prior to installation
  • Installing machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Repairing or replacing defective machinery parts
  • Fabricating parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
  • Performing routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Commissioning Drill Rigs in Workshop & Mine properties
  • Providing support to the Fleet and Asset Managers as needed
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant experience
  • Licensed Mechanic
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting and bending
  • Committed to safe practices at all times
  • Able to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Willing to learn
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • Adept at job task planning, organizing and problem solving
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Red Seal Trade Certification would be an asset
