The purpose of this internship is to collect clinical validation data from patients to enhance the product development process, publish in clinical journals, seek feedback from patients, and test device efficacy.The intern will play a primary role in establishing and running the company’s rehabilitation hand-functionclasses both in establishing research programs and in liaising with potential partners including local stroke recovery groups. The intern will also provide support to the Customer & Research Coordinator for program development, execution of research studies, data collection / analysis, and confidential storage of human participant data. They will also provide support in recruitment, screening, and the securing of informed consent from research participants.The duties and responsibilities of the intern during the placement are the following:· Contact and coordinate with potential participant sources;· Supervise and support participants in device treatment sessions;· Onsite set-up and take-down for sessions;· Transportation of devices to and from various device treatment session locations;· Assist training collaborators and clinic rehab therapists with sessions;· Work with Customer & Research Coordinator to secure potential participant sources;· Follow-up regularly after sessions to provide feedback to the product development team; and,· Data collection/data entry.The successful candidate for this position will have a degree in Kinesiology or related field of studyQualifications: University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program.
