Job Description

Position SummaryCambrian College’s Pathways Office requires a regular part-time Pathways Officer beginning October 2022. This role is the link to supporting students transitioning into programs at the College as well as for those students and graduates who are seeking further educational opportunities at institutions outside Cambrian College.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide effective advising to students who are interested in Pathways to further education, in PLAR or in Continuing Education.
  • Liaise with internal staff across the college as well as external partner institutions to support student success.
  • Develop and maintain documents and spreadsheets to track activity levels in the various services offered in the Pathways Office.
  • Prepare reports as required.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Three-year postsecondary diploma or degree. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
  • Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in providing effective pathways and transitional advising.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills along with the ability to deal with competing priorities and adapt to changing demands within a busy work environment.
  • Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and who works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Additional Assets/Preferred:
  • Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Cambrian College.
