Refer to the application instructions below if you require a disability-related accommodation.What can I expect to do in this roleAs Program Manager, Northern Health Programs, you will:

  • Provide leadership, oversight and expertise in the management, development and implementation of primary health care models and programs.
  • Provide expertise and advice to senior management and staff on health care issues impacting Northern Ontario, program delivery options, recommendations, risks, and issues management strategies.
  • Oversee the contract management of designated primary health care programs, oversee collaboration with ministry and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Actively negotiate with transfer payment recipients new payment arrangements for primary health care models and programs.
  • Monitor accountability agreements to ensure that contractual obligations related to funding, service levels and models of delivery are met.
  • Builds relationships and work effectively with partners and stakeholders to advance primary health care services in Ontario.
  • Promote and identify opportunities for internal efficiencies and process improvement
  • Promote an inclusive team approach to accomplishing priorities through employee engagement, coaching, mentoring and training.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • You have proven project management, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • You have a strong understanding of factors and issues impacting the delivery of health care services in Northern Ontario.
  • You demonstrate knowledge of the health care industry, health care delivery systems, primary health care models and related funding mechanisms.
  • You have knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Health Insurance Act and the Personal Health Information and Protection Act.
  • You demonstrate experience with business and financial planning to lead the development of program funding requests.
