Job Description

Title: Program SupervisorLocation: Adventure365 at Kivi ParkStatus: Full TimeWage: $17/ hr plus completion bonusWork Term: June 15 until August 31, with the possibility of extensionPosition Overview:The Program Supervisor is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing core and non-core programs and experiences for both camp participants and rental customers alike. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the camp counselors and participants, as well as rental customers. The incumbent will provide high-quality outdoor educational and recreational experiences for participants that focus on the Adventure365 core values.Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Kivi Park Rental Facility
  • Supervision of Kivi Park Summer Programs held at Kivi Park; including SPROCKIDS MTB Program.
Job Duties:
  • Provide consistent exceptional customer service experience
  • Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean, secure and safe work environment
  • Preserving complete and accurate records and maintaining record keeping systems
  • Model good-sportsmanship through enthusiastic, non-competitive participation and support
  • Create a positive rapport with all camp counselors, campers and chaperones
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the training and orientation of camp counselors
  • Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include mountain bike skills, trail riding, trail building crafts, nature walks, songs, games, orienteering, etc.
  • Identify and respond to counselor and camper issues.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to following all COVID-19 guidelines from Public Health
  • Help guide Camp Counsellors to have a deeper understanding of leadership and counseling skills.
  • Supervise campers during snacks/meals periods and drop off/ pick up periods
  • Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to Adventure365 Management.
  • Be aware of camper dietary/medical needs

  • Able to problem-solve effectively
  • Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include, but are not limited to, mountain biking, trail building, hiking, team building initiatives, physical games, and activities.
  • Must be capable of carrying loads of up to 50 pounds and able to traverse hilly and uneven terrain without undue exertion.
  • Able to work in varying conditions, such as inclimate weather, mud, dirt, etc
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Some Post Secondary Education in a related field
  • Candidates must be currently certified in First Aid/Level C CPR Certifications
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Education or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field. Management / Supervisor Experience would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to ride a bike comfortably on a mountain bike trail is essential.
