Working with a team of engaged professionals and dedicated leaders, youll take the next step in your career in a dynamic environment that provides opportunities for personal growth, competitive salary, mentorship, learning and development opportunities, and work-life balance.What can I expect to do in this roleWe are currently looking for a motivated professional to join our dynamic team to provide project management and coordination, and apply your organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to assist with the administration of the Mining Act.As the Project Management Intern – Program and Service Delivery, you will:

  • develop knowledge of the Mining Act, ministry practices, policies and procedures combined with other Acts related to land and land tenure
  • develop working knowledge of mineral exploration practices and techniques to support technical advice, briefing, issue management and recommendations
  • track project activities, including reviewing and monitoring project progress, key deliverables, and timelines
  • support the administration of mining land tenure and applications programs, such as the review, recommendation of, and preparation of withdrawal orders, mining leases, extension of time, relief from forfeiture, requisitions for and issuance of Orders in Council for discretionary land grants; carries out Mining Lands operational activities such as examination of land title
  • support administering the Mining Land Tax program, monitoring and maintaining the Crowns interest in freehold mining lands, and overseeing the operational and quality assurance of the accounting and land tenure components of the ministry/branch business systems application
  • participate in various committees and working groups

  • You must have graduated from a college or university, with a degree, diploma or post-graduate certificate, within the past 5 years.
  • You must be an Indigenous person (i.e. First Nations, Métis, Inuit).

Computer proficiency:
  • You are proficient in the use of common office productivity software to prepare presentations and reports, and to perform research on the internet/intranet.
