The individuals role is to facilitate opportunities for staff and students to live their faith and enhance the faith life of the school. In addition, the School Faith Animator maintains good relationships with all members of the Catholic School community, including parish priests, parents, and the wider community.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLSEducation / Certification:A relevant undergraduate university degree or Bachelor of Arts including Religious studies in the Catholic FaithCenter for Ministry Development: Canadian Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies (CCYMS) is an assetA practising Catholic with knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic churchExperience working with youth and adults, preferably in a diocesan, parish or school ministryA proven commitment to community serviceExperience coordinating masses and liturgical services in the Catholic contextAbility to collaboratively convene, motivate, and facilitate group activitiesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent interpersonal, group dynamics and motivational skillsA commitment to working collaboratively with school and system staff and community partners including our parishesIn collaboration with the school staff, ability to create and maintain faith-based leadership programs for studentsAbility to lead and coordinate prayer opportunities in a variety of situationsA self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervisionPossesses the knowledge required to act as a resource to the staff, in particular the Religious Education staff, and to engage in regular class visitsAbility to provide regular attendanceHours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The annual work schedule typically follows the school year calendar and may include additional days if required.Salary to be commensurate with recent related experience; salary range will be $36.53 to $45.66 hourly plus vacation pay which graduates with years of service.
