Job Description

Red Oak Villa is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Door Screener to ensure Covid-19 protocols are being adhered to. The primary role of the Screener is to screen and greet all visitors coming to Red Oak Villa.Responsibilities: Screening all individuals entering designated entrance for symptoms, signs and travel based on the provided screening guidelines (consists of asking questions on screening form +/- temperature reading)

  • Utilizing the screening tools provided to assess eligibility for entrance, including screening for signs and symptoms based on the screening tool
  • Greet and assist, direct and/or escort family members visiting Red Oak
  • Maintain flow at the entrance to ensure physical distancing
  • Ensuring all visitors entering follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required
  • Ensure all persons entering follow proper precautionary measures
  • Act as a liaison between staff, residents and family members
  • Support team in other infection prevention and control related duties as trained/assigned
Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work varied shifts (Days/Evenings/Weekends)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Possess the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (mask, gloves, gown) if required
  • Previous customer service experience an asset
  • Reliability and punctuality are required
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector dated within 6 months
  • Negative TB test
  • Proof of full Covid-19 Vaccination is required prior to start.**
  • Preference will be given to bilingual candidates.
**Effective June 20, 2022 the policy on Covid-19 Vaccination will be placed on abeyance. This means that the Policy on Covid-19 Vaccination is paused at this time; however, it is not cancelled and could be re-instated at a future date if public health conditions warrant it, or through guidance from federal, provincial, or local public health authorities.
