Our team-oriented environment and culture offers the continued opportunity to be challenged, to contribute, and to grow.We are actively looking to fill the following full time role at our Mine located in Levack Ontario.· Underground Operations Supervisor – Posting ID # 104-2021 (1)Scope of the roleThe nature of this position requires the candidate be able to Supervise and coordinate activities of workers on an assigned shift. The supervisor is responsible to determine fitness for duty, request training for employee; plan, assign and direct work; provide feedback and appraise worker performance; reward and discipline workers; address complaints and resolve problems.The Operations Supervisor will demonstrate KGHM’s core values of: Zero Harm, Courageous, Results Driven, Teamwork and Accountability.Specific Duties and Responsibilities· Directly supervises a number of assigned employees and carries out responsibilities in accordance with all relevant procedural and legislated regulations while managing multiple tasks across all areas of the mine

  • Coordinates mining activities to ensure production schedules are met and quality of product meets specifications
  • Takes responsibility for aspects of health and safety, as well as environmental matters, including but not limited to weekly and monthly compliance requirements
  • Inspects equipment and workplaces daily to ensure the safety of the workers and drive operational performance
  • Completes field level risk assessments daily and participates in task level risk assessments as required to identify hazards and ensure controls are in place to reduce risk
  • Develops or revises standard operating practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
  • Resolves workers grievances or escalates unsettled grievances to the General Foreman for action
  • Interprets and communicates company policies, hazards, and general information to workers. Interprets specifications and job work orders to workers and assigns duties
  • Recommends measures to improve productivity, equipment performance and/or utilization and mine design
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Escalates matters to the General Foreman as required
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, including but not limited to annual performance reviews
  • Maintains log books, time and production records
  • Interacts with other supervisors and planners on a daily basis to prioritize and coordinate work and mining equipment to execute the weekly planned activities
  • Lead and/or participate in daily and monthly meetings as required
· Initiates and leads Incident Investigations, identifies direct/indirect causes and make recommendations for improvementsQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE1. Previous Related Work Experience Required
  • Three to five years of underground mining experience in a Supervisory/Leader Role
2. Special Skills and/or Knowledge Required
  • Basic Hard Rock Common Core and Supervisory Common Core required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate oral and written with all levers of the organization
  • Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation 854, as well as other applicable legislation and regulations
3. Special Equipment/Computer Knowledge Required
  • Computer skills required, including moderate to advances knowledge of Microsoft Excel
