Location:1124 Bridge Street, Greenwood, Nova Scotia, B0P 1N0Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty and convenience services in your community, and keep the customer at the centre of everything you do.Why this role is importantSUMMARY:Maintain excellent customer service and checkout area for prompt and accurate processing of the customer’s order.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:CUSTOMER SERVICEProvides excellent customer service and positively engages with all customersMaintains a neat and organized checkout areaGreets all customers and displays warm demeanorAccurately scans or enters product dataAccurately accounts for cash and coupon, lottery, and PC OptimumAsks for customer’s PC Optimum Card during each transactionAnswers inquiries regarding location of product, rain-checks, refunds, PC OptimumMERCHANDISINGEnsures proper documentation completed with respect to customers receipt and return of goodsCompletes merchandising tasks as directed and maintains efficient flow of merchandise from backroom to sales floorMerchandises and maintains designated areas (i.e. facing, signing, labeling, etc)Advises appropriate person regarding stock outs/shortagesPerforms stock counts and orders for designated areasLOSS PREVENTIONEnsures loss prevention Standards are followedControls cash, lottery, and stamp inventory in accordance with prescribed cash handling policies and proceduresMaintains proper security of cash and merchandiseGENERALPresents proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines (i.e. clean appearance, approved uniform, name badge)Complies with all health and safety regulationsComplies with all store policies and proceduresEnsures the standards of housekeeping and image are maintainedPerform other duties as requiredCompletes all training and new initiatives on SDMUQUALIFICATIONSPlanning, Judgement and Decision MakingBalance teamwork and efficiency in processing the customer orderOrganization and neatnessCope with register and credit authorization issuesDetermine customer satisfactionEfficiency in processing the customer orderTroubleshoot cash issuesEXPERIENCEStrong computer and register skillsWell organized with ability to record keepDetail orientedAbility to provide a proactive approach in customer service and problem-solvingEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independentlyAbility to function as part of the team in a fast paced environmentCommitment to providing customer serviceWORKING CONDITIONSAbility to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekendsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to climb ladderThe above statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions and duties as required for proper evaluation of the job and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.J2WRTLWhy work in a Shoppers Drug Mart storeEach store has an Associate-Owner, so you will work for a local business owner while having the support of a national brand.
