Job Description

LaPrairie Works Oilfield Services is a diversified and growing transportation specialist. We come with over 35 years of operating experience in Western Canada, and our core business areas include on and off highway hauling, oilfield services, mine contracting and site services.LaPrairie Works Oilfield Services is currently recruiting a Full-time Commercial Driver / Dispatcher to join our team in Grimshaw, Alberta. This will be a blended position with duties involving both Commercial Truck Driving and Truck Driver Dispatching, as required by fluctuations in truck haul programs.Responsibilities:Perform Commercial Driver duties when haul programs requireOperate a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver bulk commoditiesRegular haul schedules include: Terminal to Transload Facilities and Terminal / Transload Facilities to Infield SitesDispatch drivers and monitor logistics to accomplish haul program schedules, while meeting NSC driver requirementsMonitor driver performance in relation to requirements outlined within specialized permits and applicable routesProvide ongoing support and assistance to drivers to ensure hauls are optimized and delays are minimizedManage incoming phone calls from drivers, customers and communicating necessary information in a timely manner to managementCommunicate factors adversely affecting operations with supervisor(s) in the field.Communicate with drivers and monitor road conditions, road-bans, construction zones and accidents in order to revise transportation routes, as neededMaintain accurate and timely data within company’s custom, Dispatch and Scheduling Management System (SMS) platformRelaying all communications from clients, to Supervision / Management, to address concerns and / or requests in a timely and efficient mannerCommunicate equipment related issues to on-shift staff / Supervision for resolution.Monitor job progress and complete applicable shift reportsReview and verify Commercial Driver reports such as: Driver Daily logs, Pre-Post Trip Inspection logs, BOL / load delivery receipts, etc.Communicate with client dispatchers to understand, coordinate, and track trucking operations, for the effective delivery of product to customer jobsitesJob requirementsClass 1 Commercial Driver’s License with Air EndorsementA satisfactory driver’s abstractMinimum of three (3) years of Commercial Driver experience, preferably in both on and off highway and mountain haul operationsOilfield/bulk haul driving experience preferredMinimum of two (2) + years of experience dispatching trucks within various frac sand / bulk commodity trucking operationsSelf-motivated, organized, and likes to work in an energetic, higher geared environmentSolid verbal and written communication skills supported by good familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook IT programs.The ability to deal with clients, drivers, and support staff professionally and tactfullyAbility to promote positive safety culture
