Job Description

Your Opportunity:The Lead, Capacity Planning, leads the North Zone Continuing Care capacity projects to ensure planning for new living options (continuing care facilities, beds) and changes determined by the Zone are carried out as planned and are on schedule. Location is negotiable in North Zone. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:The Lead has a key role in initiating and working with continuing care contracts in the NZ and works closely with AHS’s CPSM team and BAS as required. Additionally, the Lead works closely with the NZ operations teams that have commissioning or decommissioning projects within Continuing Care. At times, the Lead may work directly with contracted operators, construction teams and design teams. The Lead follows the Commissioning and Client Relocation Support processes to guide and facilitate Zone activities. Work is of an advanced nature and complexity, requiring specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in Continuing Care service delivery and service environments. The successful applicant must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be well versed in the Continuing Care Design Guidelines, the application of ASLI Grants and knowledge of architectural designs and plans. Position is the liaison between AHS departments and Contracted Providers and reports project progress to the Zone Capacity Working Team. The Capacity Planning Lead reports directly to the Executive Director, Seniors Health, North Zone.

Required Qualifications:Post-secondary degree preferred; however, other educational backgrounds combined with relative work experience may be considered.Additional Required Qualifications:Experience leading project teams. Knowledge and experience using project management principles, tools and methodologies. Broad knowledge of continuing care health services and congregate living settings including design guidelines. Understanding the relationship between Alberta Health Services and private Contacted Providers. Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:Experience reading blueprints & architectural plans. Understanding the basic fundamentals of contracts & legal agreements. Excellent customer support skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills and able to function with minimal direction. Possess a high degree of initiative, judgement & decision making capabilities.
