Job Description

LaPrairie Works Inc. is a diversified and growing transportation specialist. We come with over 35 years of operating experience in Western Canada, and our core business areas include highway maintenance, on and off highway hauling, oilfield services, mine contracting, and site services.We are currently recruiting full-time Snow Plow Truck Operators to expand our Plow Truck fleet within the highway maintenance operations based in Grimshaw, Alberta. The ideal candidates will satisfy the following criteria:Responsibilities:

  • Operate a spreader, plow wing, combo unit, or tow plow in a safe and efficient manner to carry out the clearing of local roads as per the contract requirements
  • Operate required specialized winter equipment
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and conduct any routine maintenance, including performing minor repairs as needed
  • Review and understand route maps and application rates
  • Complete / maintain accurate hours of service records, safety reports, and fuel reports
  • Observe and uphold HSE fundamentals
Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 license
  • Experience with off-road and winter driving
  • Experience in highway maintenance activities, such as winter maintenance, surface repairs, roadside and bridge maintenance
  • Drivers abstract in good standing
  • First Aid Training
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Dedicated work ethic and ability to work day shifts, night shifts, and on-call
Preference will be given to candidates that hold a valid Class 1 license and are able to work night shifts.Job Type: Full-timeQuick Apply
