Your Opportunity:The town of Grimshaw is located in the beautiful Peace River countryside in northern Alberta just 25 km west of the town of Peace River at the junction of Highway 35, Highway 2, bypass Highway 2A, and the Mackenzie Northern Railway. Having developed first as a community center for a rich mixed farming district, Grimshaw’s economy has transformed to become a distribution center for northern Alberta. The town population is about 2700 with a surrounding catchment of 15000. Come join our team in a dynamic rural emergency department. You will be working closely with physicians and members of a multidisciplinary team to provide care for patients while following AHS values. Previous experience in an ER department is preferred. This ER department is a trauma center for the area. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
