Job Description

One of our automation clients is seeking a PLC programmer for their manufacturing facility in the Kitchener-Waterloo, ON region.Shift - DayPay - $35 - $40/hrKey Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming: Design, write, and test PLC programs for automation systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and performance requirements.
  • System Integration: Integrate PLC systems with machinery, sensors, actuators, and other industrial equipment, ensuring smooth operation and communication between components.
  • HMI Development: Develop and configure Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for operators to interact with PLC-controlled systems.
  • Troubleshootingamp; Debugging: Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, control systems, and connected equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • System Testing: Conduct thorough testing of PLC programs and automated systems to verify functionality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of PLC programs, system configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Upgradesamp; Maintenance: Implement upgrades and modifications to existing PLC systems to improve efficiency, functionality, and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and production staff to ensure proper integration and operation of control systems.
  • Trainingamp; Support: Provide training and technical support to operators, maintenance personnel, and other team members on PLC systems and associated technologies.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all control systems and processes comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor #39;s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications in PLC programming or industrial automation are a plus.
  • Experience with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi).
