Job Description

Nautel is a global leader in the design, manufacture, sale, and support of high power Radio Frequency (RF) products for AM and FM radio broadcast, navigation, and industrial applications. On their behalf, we are seeking a Network Support Technician to join their team.As a member of the IT team, you will provide ongoing IT support for Nautels networking infrastructure, including servers, switches, firewalls and access points. Network support on a day-to-day basis will be the focus of this role but some desktop support, including maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for desktops, laptops, printers and phone systems may also be required. This role will require someone with strong communication skills and excellent internal customer focus.Other responsibilities will include:

  • Act as an IT resource on business and IT specific projects as they arise;
  • Tracks all IT assets including licenses, computers, mobile devices, servers, switches, firewalls;
  • Administers anti-virus systems and responds to malware threats discovered by these systems;
  • Administers and configures servers, switches and firewalls, ensuring they are kept up to date from potential threats;
  • Administers data backup systems;
  • Administers access points the wireless LAN service;
  • Requirement to be available for a rotational after hours or on-call;
  • Keeps IT documentation updated;
  • Provide training experiences (one on one, small groups, web conference);
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for how IT Processes, Procedures and Tools can be improved;.
Qualifications:
  • IT diploma (2-year program) or equivalent experience;
  • One year related experience OR three or more years of experience without formal education credentials;
  • Business processes;
  • Cross functional dependencies;
  • Current Windows technologies including computer operating systems, Office software, and other Nautel information systems (For example; SYSPRO);
  • Linux experience would be considered an asset for this role;
  • Produce results while working independently;
  • Take initiative to proactively prioritize and solve problems as they occur;
  • Collaborate with IT team members and other Nautel employees;
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) across all Nautel departments, project teams, and third-party partners and vendors;
  • Operates with safety as a priority - work safely as defined by established company policies and procedures.
