Job Description

IoM Media Ventures is a 3D animation studio located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We’re looking to grow our modeling team for upcoming projects!Responsibilities:
  • Create geometry and UVs for assets (characters, props, sets, etc.) based on production guidelines
  • Ensure modeling assets are delivered in the expected quality and technical requirements of the show
  • Work and communicate with rigging team to ensure assets are built to achieve the intended animation performance requirements
  • Work and communicate with texturing teams to ensure assets meet their needs
  • Modify and improve existing modeling assets when needed
  • Interpret and implement notes and feedback from directors and supervisors in a timely and qualitatively acceptable way
  • Meet production deadlines and maintain regular communication with the production team
  • Communicate with modeling lead on concerns and production issues ahead of time
  • Keep current on modeling techniques and technology
  • Recommend any team training needs to modeling lead
  • Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
  • Be a positive and creative force on the team
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in animation or film industry
  • Proficiency with standard industry software (eg. Maya)
  • Experience in Zbrush
  • Experience with rigging and/or shading is a benefit
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Take direction, collaborate, and be a team player
  • Communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas in a professional manner
  • Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Work independently and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
  • Encourage feedback and new initiatives
  • Able to adapt to multiple show styles
  • Must be open to direction and able to embrace change
