Pierce Maritime Landscape Services is a full-service landscaping business serving HRM and surrounding area. We are proud of the excellent quality of service provided to our clients. With the current high demand for our quality of landscaping and construction services we have been expanding our service and we are now looking to grow our team.Purpose:The Landscape and Construction Labourer is responsible for performing a large variety of work tasks (usually physical labour) assisting with landscape maintenance and construction projects. The Landscape and Construction Labourer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.Job Summary –Landscape and Construction LabourerComplete tasks as planned with a focus on working safely and in a responsible manner, providing quality work and production service excellence. Must comply with current health and safety regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times, communicate with customers and co-workers in a polite and courteous manner, and maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and shop areas.Job Tasks:a) Install mulch, soil, grass seed, changes to garden bed layouts including planting and maintaining garden beds and lawnsb) Construction of walkways and patios, stone walls, greenhouses, etc.c) Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carryingd) Operate various hand tools and power equipmentQualifications and Skills Required:- Ability to work independently and part of a team with attention to detail, follow instructions, perform work quickly and efficiently while walking, standing, or crouching for long periods of time and complete strenuous physical tasks.- Valid driver’s license is preferred but candidate must be able to meet at given location around HRM. Preference is given to candidates with a truck and experience on heavy equipment. Standard mileage rate will be paid for business use of personal truck.- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent- Preferred candidate will have one or more years’ experience in the landscape/construction industry- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift- Excellent stamina is required- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and coldJob Type: Full-time, Hourly Contract Schedule: 10 hour shifts Monday to Friday- Must be flexible working hours including occasional weekend workExperience: Landscaping: 1 year (preferred)Licence/Certification: Class 5 (preferred experience driving Dump Truck and Bobcat)Work remotely: NoJob Types: Fixed term contract, SeasonalSalary: $18.00-$22.00 per hourSchedule:
