This individual will provide support to the Senior Accounting Manager and other finance leaders in all functional areas of accounting including problem identification and solution development. The Accounting Manager will lead an accounting team that supports various Eastlink cost centres related to sales, marketing and overall customer experience. Responsible for management and employee development of the team, the Accounting Manager will also oversee monthly reporting while establishing and maintaining accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary to support the business operations.Responsibilities:

  • Review/supervise day to day and month end work of general accounting staff in the areas of expense reporting, sales reporting and other key performance metrics
  • Assess current accounting practices and identify, coordinate and implement changes to processes to enhance overall workflow in the department
  • Manage performance and results of direct reports including setting goals/objectives and providing constructive feedback on a regular and timely basis
  • Provide the business operation groups with key insights and analysis that support achievement of business goals and objectives
  • Maintain strong relationships with direct reports and other key business partners
  • Oversee the preparation of financial forecasts and annual budgets
  • Support finance management and other stakeholders with ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance; minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in an accounting environment
  • CPA accounting designation preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and/or business processes to achieve results
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization with a customer service mindset
  • Analytical thinker with ability to conduct research and analyze data
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including: anticipation, prevention, identification, and problem solving
  • Self-starter, with proven time-management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to participate in and support a positive work environment
