Job Description

Smith & Touesnard Inc. is a boutique CPA accounting firm providing trusted advice, accounting, and tax solutions to professionals and owner-managed businesses for over 40 years. Located on vibrant Spring Garden Road, we offer a friendly, tight-knit, team-oriented work environment.We are looking for a motivated, professional individual eager to join our team as a Contract Accounting Technician for our upcoming busy tax season. Were looking for a flexible individual who is eager to learn and grow professionally. You will have a keen sense of time management, initiative, and the ability to work independently when necessary.This position involves the following opportunities to grow and develop:

  • Prepare after the fact bookkeeping and reconciliations from client information
  • Exposure to all aspects of public accounting firm tax compliance cycle for payroll, trust, corportate and personal engagments (T4, T5, T3, T2, T1 returns)
  • Experience in preparing year-end working paper files
  • Invovlement with audit engagements and key audit substantive testing and sampling procedures
  • A willingness to engage with technology and craft innovative solutions to our office processes and workflows (our primary tools are Caseware, TaxPrep and CCH Ifirm and you will learn these intimately)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • To be supportive and flexible with additional responsibilities as they develop in the office, our work environment is dynamic and always changing and the key to our success is adaptability
