Accountabilities:As the Administrative Assistant IV, you will provide a high level of administrative support to the Environmental Services & Mikmaq Relations Team. Judgment, initiative, confidentiality, work ethic, quality, and the ability to meet deadlines are of prime importance. You will be required to perform at a high level of competency and independence.Responsibilities may involve interacting with and supporting staff, preparing reports and department financial data, maintaining filing systems, processing invoices, arranging meetings, managing calendars and email, making travel arrangements, preparing electronic presentations and spreadsheets, performing payroll time entry, as well as formatting and filing regulatory documents. You will assist in the development and maintenance of standard office procedures.This position requires flexibility, excellent customer service and the ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will also be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.Skills, Capabilities and Experience:You have a grade XII education or equivalent, office administration training, and three to five years of related administrative experience. You have effective communication and organizational skills. You are a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes and will become competent in the applications required for this position. You have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are attentive to detail. You are a team player and possess strong interpersonal skills. You have a thorough knowledge of current office procedures and have proficient typing and computer utilization skills. You have a good working knowledge of various software packages (i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, Invoice Express, Peoplesoft, SharePoint and Oracle). Accounting and/or knowledge of statistics would be a definite asset.
