It is comprised of specialized teams of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Health Promoters, Recreation Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Secretaries, and other members of the allied health and support team.The Advanced Practice Leader (APL) will be part of the Provincial Center for Training, Education, and Learning (PCTEL) and will report to the Provincial Clinical Leader and Manager of Training and Education. They will also work closely with other members of the MHAP that support Intake Services.The focus of this role will be training the clinical staff providing Intake Services throughout the province. This will include developing and delivering initial and ongoing trainings, providing regular consultation, liaising with intake coordinators, and conducting program evaluation, including adherence monitoring and chart audits. Training and consultation will be aimed at enhancing intake clinicians’ knowledge and skills in the areas of mental health assessment, suicide and other risk assessment, motivational interviewing, and brief interventions.The APL will have training and experience in mental health assessment, suicide and risk assessment, motivational interviewing and other evidence-based brief interventions. They will have expertise in providing training and consultation and be familiar with adult learning principles.The APL will have one day per week (0.2 FTE) for clinical work.Qualifications
