As an Analyst, you will be responsible for data quality control implementation, centralized exception handling and data quality issue management. You will be a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, with a strong focus on data analysis coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills.What will you do

  • Develop data quality rules and controls
  • Monitor data quality rules and controls
  • Investigate data exceptions
  • Identify the root cause of data issues
  • Develop solutions to address data issues
  • Work with various stakeholder teams to understand how data is being used to support the refinement of controls and remediation of data issues
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business users at both senior and junior levels
What do you need to succeedMust-have
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong data analysis skills, including experience with SQL for analysis and leveraging Excel to analyze disparate data sets
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field
Nice to Have
  • Understanding of data lifecycles and knowledge of Data Quality classification
  • Knowledge of IBM Information Analyzer to build and manage Data Quality rules and reporting
  • Experience with data science methodologies, including machine learning and advanced pattern recognition.
  • Knowledge of global markets business processes and/or experience working with Market/Reference data

  • Interaction with a wide variety of departments within Capital Markets

  • Work collaboratively with business partners, IT and Data Management in order to deliver new capabilities effectively
  • Stay close to industry best practices in account, client data and KYC management
  • Apply interpersonal and influencing skills to develop strong relationships with the Data Management team, Data Management IT, stakeholders across RBC CM, and individuals participating in the various data project streams
  • Communicate effectively with RBC CM professionals at varying levels of seniority, including applying insight to determine the business impact of data issues that may arise in the availability, integrity or completeness of data which can be supported through better governance
