We require all employees to be caring, helpful, and enjoy dealing with people on a daily basis.What we are looking for:See Sight Tours is seeking a new Operations Manager for its Atlantic Canada operation. This is one of the most important positions in each of our regions and plays a critical role in the success of the business. This role will help ensure the success and growth of Atlantic Canada by assisting in recruitment and leading a team of unforgettable guides and experiences. This is a full time salaried position, working from Halifax NS.As a manager you will be expected to ensure successful day to day operations of the Atlantic Canada cities which currently encompasses Halifax, Charlottetown and Saint John. This includes but is not limited to: Preparing weekly schedules for tour guides (your direct reports), maintaining positive relationship with all local attractions we affiliate with, fixing any staffing or operation issues as they arise, replying to all customer inquiries or complaints in a timely manner, and overseeing fleet maintenance. You will also be responsible for bi-weekly face to face meetings with employees (tour guides and head tour guides), as well as upper management.Whats in it for you

What you are responsible for:
  • Continuously developing and improving training and guide materials and manuals for use in the business daily operations.
  • Assisting upper management with human resources matters; including, building a team of competent and skilled employees, and enforcing disciplinary measures with the aim of providing exceptional service to the business customers.
  • Coaching, mentoring and training your direct reports, in accordance with the employers policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and ensuring that such staff meet upper managements expectations with respect to customer service, quality and integrity.
  • Providing general oversight and control of your direct reports.
  • Collaborating with administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operation of the business.
  • Creating and maintaining work schedules (including assignments, optimizing pick up schedules, training, overtime, absences, vacation and other time off requests) for your direct reports.
  • Preparing vehicles for daily use and coordinating regular maintenance.
  • Listening to, managing and responding to customers suggestions and complaints.
  • Reporting customer complaints and resulting issues to upper management.
  • Reporting foreseeable issues to upper management ensuring they are well informed of the progress of resolution(s) if applicable.
  • Proactively developing and implementing problem-solving procedures in connection with the business.
  • Submitting monthly and annual progress reports to upper management, suggesting and discussing possible improvements over time.
  • Organizing and keeping records relating to staff, vehicles and other important documents.
  • Keeping an open mind and continuously seeking ways to improve current systems and control used in connection with the business.
  • Being able to conduct 5-star quality tours in case you are needed to jump in at the last minute.
  • Performing other duties that may arise from time to time which are assigned to the employee by upper management.
Qualifications:
  • Standard Drivers License
  • Must have a clean drivers abstract (driving record).
  • Must have a clean Criminal Background Check.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Passion for your city and helping others.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Assist with training of new guides.
  • Being a positive role model for a team of tour guides/head tour guides.

    • Weekends and holiday work is expected as needed
  • Starting Salary: $40,000-$50,000 (based on experience).
