What you’ll doIt’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
  • Responsible for leading the Store Investigations team through the execution of the external investigations strategy in efforts to reduce losses and deter external theft and fraud activity in alignment with the national investigation’s framework and overall Loss Prevention objectives
  • Leads a national team of Store Investigation Supervisors
  • Accountable for leading the implementation and execution of the Investigations strategy (6-12 months) in alignment with the overall Investigations and LP objectives
  • Assess, monitor, evaluate and recommend solutions for reducing shrink with focus on, but not limited to training, procedural adoption, and implementing best practices identified with the industry
  • Accountable for building knowledge and skill capability within the Store Investigations teams to execute on all required Store investigations safety protocols effectively and efficiently, procedures in adherence with local and national legislation regarding apprehensions
  • Develops consistent, streamlined processes and procedures for Store Investigations, identifying gaps and recommending effective solutions, ensuring national standards for investigations are consistently and effectively utilized by the entire team across Canada, in alignment with the LP investigations framework
  • Drives the use of analytics in partnership with the LP Analytics team, to execute effective workforce planning by determining, prioritizing, and optimizing the allocation of Store Investigations resourcing in alignment with overall investigations objectives
  • Collaborates regularly with Managers across LP, to share feedback on trends, identify training need, and gather/ share information as it relates to Store investigations
  • Partners with Stores/Field to drive efficient and effective investigations
  • Partners with Analytics Manager to acquire analytics to evaluate effectiveness of scheduling resources, and remote investigation teams to build case files
  • Responsible for setting team talent plan spanning 6-12 months to assess and grow team members; through talent assessment, IDPs, mid and year end reviews and action plans
  • Develops, coaches, mentors and motivates a team of Store Investigations Supervisors by providing consistent feedback, timely performance management, setting goals and expectations and formal/informal recognition; ensures Associates have development plans that support their growth, as well as mentors the team on relationship management, business acumen to elevate and build their knowledge and skills, while acting as a key resource to answer questions and discuss best practices
What you’ll needTo begin your career with us, we require the following:
  • Post-secondary education in related field preferred
  • Five (5) to (7) seven years progressive management experience in Retail, preferably off-price, with experience in operations and loss prevention is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering and coaching; bilingualism (English/French)
  • Strong investigative methodologies and experience with analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions
  • Knowledge of the global and national retail landscape and market trends to develop future strategies; solid understanding of business tools and reports to make business recommendations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
  • Demonstrates management skills including organizational, negotiating, listening, conflict management and information gathering skills. Demonstrated solid people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to Associates in the resolution of problems
  • Solid project management skills including structured project methodology (i.e. determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; determining project specifications; understanding and applying principles of project control to launch and manage new initiatives and innovations.
