In support of the Provincial Covid-19 response, our department has been tasked with providing a presence at all provincial points of entry to supply the travelling public with timely and accurate information based on the most current requirements outlined under the Public Health Orders.About Our OpportunityNova Scotia Environment and Climate Change (ECC) is tasked with helping keep Nova Scotians’ safe and healthy by adding support to various provincial points of entry. This work is an important part of Nova Scotia’s response to the Covid-19 Global Pandemic. In this position, you will be responsible for interacting with all travelers who enter the province, confirming basic personal information according to public health protocols. You will be checking with visitors by collecting, tracking and protecting personal information related to their travel plans, where they have traveled from, and whether they will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. You will also be responsible for sharing information with travellers related to the Nova Scotia Health Protection Act Order, provide guidance on where to get more assistance throughout their trip (i.e. 811 telephone line, novascotia.ca/coronavirus) and provide voluntary COVID-19 self-swab test kits.Primary AccountabilitiesAs a Border Liaison Officer, your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
