Job Description

Position Overview:The engineering supervisor plans, organizes, controls and leads the technical activities and resources of the CH149 CISSIMP group supporting IMP’s Cormorant Support Center.Key Areas of Rsponsibility:

  • Provide supervision, leadership and technical guidance to engineering staff.
  • Apply and promote good Project Management practices.
  • Ensure technical work tasks conducted under the Cormorant in-service support contract are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical investigations, services and other engineering support activities as required and provide technical advice to the customer.
  • Lead / coordinate the development of technical tools required to support the program.
  • Prepare Engineering reports, plans, and studies.
  • Review staff reports for accuracy, grammar and technical content.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external customers and other departments within IMP.
  • Represent IMP at technical meetings with the customer, aircraft manufacturers, or other outside agencies.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, staff development and performance evaluations.
  • Plan staff workload and assess staffing requirements.
  • Monitor workload and assign manpower as required.
  • Prepare cost estimates and statements of work and support the preparation of proposals.
  • Evaluate and propose potential new business development opportunities.
  • May be required to periodically assume some or all the duties of the Manager Aeronautical Support Engineering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education:Bachelors, Masters or PH.d in Aeronautical or Mechanical EngineeringPosition Requirements:
  • Professional Engineer status or eligibility is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in an Engineering environment primarily dealing with aircraft systems is required. Recent (within 2 years) applicable relevant experience is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP). Specific knowledge of the CH149 ASIP is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of general aircraft structure, aircraft engineering drawings, data collection systems and analytical methods and tools. Specific knowledge of the CH149 is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership, guidance and delegation skills.
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities.
Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.Quick Apply
