The Division also provides information to support Government decision-making and policy formulation in the areas of management and responsible development of mineral resources. https://novascotia.ca/natr/meb/The Registry of Mineral and Petroleum Titles is the main point of contact for mineral Industry clients, other agencies, and the public, Providing maps of current mineral exploration Licence and leases and monitoring exploration activities in Nova Scotia. https://novascotia.ca/natr/meb/registry-minerals-petroleum/About Our OpportunityAs the Registry Clerk, you will provide efficient and effective client service by responding to in-person, mail, internet and telephone requests for various Registry products and services, including applications for mineral and petroleum rights licences or leases.You will provide information on past exploration and mining activities and a number of more complex services.Primary AccountabilitiesSome of the assets you bring to the role include:Providing direction, information and assistance to industry clients, general public, internal clients and departmental staff in response to complex incoming telephone inquiries requiring explanation and interpretation of policies and legislative requirements.Preparing and composing written correspondence to respond to unique requests, respond to email inquiries. Preparation of routine form letters and Ministerial documents.Proven data entry skills and ability to use computer applications and software to support business processes.A high aptitude and ability to acquire, retain, organize and apply policies, procedures, processes and forms.Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage large volumes of workflow while maintaining accuracy and meeting service level objectives.Ability to react and adjust positively to changes in work environment and in policies and procedures.Knowledge of the mineral resource sector.Optimizing client service while handling with tact, requests of a sensitive nature, and having respect for confidentiality of information contained in Registry records.Cash handling experience and balancing accounts in a front-line customer service environment.Qualifications and ExperienceThis may be the right opportunity for you if you have 4 years related experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.As the ideal candidate you have strong communication (verbal and written) and exceptional interpersonal skills with previous experience in a client service environment.
