May include working evenings and weekends.Posting Date: August 3th, 2021Closing Date: August 17, 2021Responsibilities:Co-hosting, News and/or weather presentationGenerating, developing, researching, and setting-up original stories focusing on creative features and integrated contentFeature reporting: including conducting interviews, script writing and voicingUtilizing of ENG equipment & digital editing to shoot and edit storiesSetting-up and operating live equipment (i.e. Dejero boxes and/or Dejero App, Atlas Kits, etc.) as necessaryDynamic live presentationConsistent and impactful social media engagementWriting web copy and providing web content as necessaryDeveloping contacts and resources in Halifax and across the MaritimesNews reporting as needed, with strong editorial decision makingEarly morning, weekend and late night assignments as requiredOther related duties as assignedQualifications:Post-secondary education with specialized broadcast training (i.e. Journalism Degree) or equivalent. On-air presentation experience as a Host, Co-Host or Anchor is strongly preferred. Experience as a Video Journalist or Reporter is required.Strong research and communication skillsDynamic personality and strong creative abilitiesAbility to work quickly, deal with multiple demands and pressure of on-air deadlinesKnowledge of Atlantic Canada (history, geography, culture, etc. ) is desirableExperience in the operation of ENG and non-linear editing equipment strongly preferredDemonstrated initiative, creativity and reliabilityExcellent understanding of journalistic ethics is essentialExperience with “live” presentationDemonstrated engagement with social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.) requiredExperience providing content to digital platforms, including websites, preferredExperience with iNews and Dejero technology preferred.Strong team playerCreative storytelling skills and strong news judgmentAbility to consistently lift and carry up to 45 poundsValid driver’s licence and a good driving record are requiredBilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.Additional Information:Position Type: Media - TalentJob Status: Regular - Full TimeJob Location: Canada : Nova Scotia : HalifaxApplication Deadline: 08/17/2021Please apply directly online to be considered for this role.
