We are currently looking to fill the position of Communications Co-op Student.Please be aware there is a possibility that this will be a work-from-home position should directives from the Public Health or NS Power recommend this course of action in response to COVID-19.Accountabilities:You will be responsible as the primary writer, editor and layout coordinator of NSP’s weekly internal employee newsletter; supporting our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram); planning communications for special projects; planning/executing special events; providing media research and analysis; being part of the communications response team during major storms and crises.You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.Skills, Capabilities and Experience:You must be working towards a Public Relations degree and have completed the first two years of your degree.You have the ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt to a fast-paced environment; strong writing skills and organizational skills; ability to work well with a wide variety of internal stakeholders; experience with Photoshop and InDesign is considered an asset; experience designing infographics and doing simple video-editing is considered an asset.Reports to: Manager, Internal CommunicationsForm of Application: Click the APPLY button at the end of the online job posting.
