Job Description

Employment OpportunityCommunications Coordinator Employment Duration: September 2022-March 202437.5 Hours/Week$56,000-58,500Eating Disorders Nova Scotia is a rapidly growing, virtual, community-based organization. We believe that no-one should have to face an eating disorder alone. Last year, we supported over a thousand people along their recovery journey. All of our supports – including one-on-one Peer Mentoring, Peer Support Groups, Peer Support Chat, Workshops, Family Support, Therapy and Nutrition Counselling– are delivered virtually. A referral or a diagnosis are not required to start one’s healing journey. We know that recovering from an eating disorder is tough – accessing support and treatment shouldn’t be.After 20+ years of supporting people living with an eating disorder in Nova Scotia, we are now expanding our Peer Support Programs nationally, and are seeking an experienced communications professional.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national communications strategy to drive awareness of and engagement with our Peer Support programming
  • Establish individual marketing and communications channel strategies
  • Ensure campaigns/projects are delivered on time, on budget and meet program objectives
  • Contribute to rebranding efforts for National expansion
  • Develop key program marketing and communications materials
  • Grow our social media presence and following
  • Supports staff with day-to-day internal and external communications
  • Provide writing and research support for composing grant funding applications
  • Participate in knowledge translation activities
  • Maintain program records
  • Participate in promotions and presentations
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • English/French bilingualism preferred
  • Experience developing and executing successful mulit-channel communications strategies
  • Expertise in creating and distributing impactful content to targeted audiences
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Canva, social media
  • Strong writing skills
  • Understanding of eating disorders an asset
