This includes performance evaluation, training, disciplinary procedures, work assignments, and administers personnel policies and procedures.Capable of allocating and monitoring staffing for each nursing unit to assure optimal resident care;Supporting initial assessments of potential admissions in consultation with Licensed Staff;Providing consultation regarding resident issues and standards of care to nursing personnel and the interdisciplinary team;Must be able to assume the duties of registered staff as required;About YouYou have obtained your Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, have 2-5 years nursing experience (including two years in clinical nursing), and are currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia as a Registered Nurse.You have demonstrated both a desire to work in a progressive environment that embraces change, and a positive approach to new initiatives and opportunities for improvement.You possess knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization, administration, as well as knowledge of current literature and applied research for the delivery of health care.You also possess knowledge of operational and personnel rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreement and regulations governing long term care.Previous experience in working with the clients in long-term care or a senior’s independent living environment would be considered an asset, along with computer skills and experience with electronic information systems and Alzheimer’s & other Dementia Care course (U-First training preferred).About UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
