Additional benefits include:Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan (eligible immediately upon hire) including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramRRSP program (5% employer matching)Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insuranceFree onsite parkingEmployee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks ProgramAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiativesRecognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the OpportunityAdhere to the financial policies and procedures that govern the financial management and cost control for the Construction Group.Detailed costing and project reporting to the Construction GM/Project Managers and collaborative tracking and reporting of budget variances.Detailed costing and project reporting to Shannex for all projects each month.Executes cost and general accounting requirements for the Construction Group including managing the general ledger, tax, AR, AP, Project Draws, Payroll, Procurement processes and risk management areas such as insurance and holdbacks.Monthly Construction billing to Shannex.Track and monitor all construction contracts, payments, holdbacks, and deficiencies where required.Prepare monthly financial statements for stakeholders.Build key relationships and collaborates with stakeholders including operations, Shannex finance, as well as key external contract stakeholders and partners.About YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:A degree in Finance or Business Administration or a CPA designationAt least five (5) years experience of professional post-grad accounting experienceCurrent/previous leadership experienceStrong proficiency with interpreting data to identify past/future trends to communicate business needsStrong knowledge of the Canadian Tax Act and the Canadian Accounting StandardsThorough knowledge of valuation principlesAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPointA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care.About UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
