Job Description

  • Shifts vary but go no later than 7:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare nutritious, flavourful and attractive food, following Canada’s Food Guide and the established menu, for our residents
  • Assists in food budgeting, utilizing materials and food in an appropriate manner to minimize waste
  • Knowledgeable of resident food allergies and dietary restrictions
  • Cater for special events
  • Makes recipe and menu adaptations when necessary
  • Ensure safe food storage and disposal
Qualifications:
  • Culinary certificate or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of nutritional needs/food preparation considerations in a long-term care setting is an asset
  • WHIMIS certification
  • Clear criminal record check
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Physically fit/able to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Team player, works well with others
  • Background in baking is an asset
