It engages the region’s maritime experience in all its breadth and diversity, including our enduring and complex relationships with water and the sea.For more information on the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic please click here: https://maritimemuseum.novascotia.caAbout Our OpportunityThe Coordinator of Maritime Experiences at MMA plays an important role in developing the museum’s outreach and relevancy in maritime museum experiences, especially related to hands-on learning programs with community groups, marginalized communities, and school groups.As the Coordinator you provide interpretive planning and coordination support for the MMA’s waterfront experiences. The coordinator assists with the effective planning, development, delivery, evaluation of interpretive programs to engage, meet and exceed the diverse needs of all museum visitors and stakeholders.As the coordinator you will work closely with CSS Acadia Ship Keeper, Assistant Ship Keeper, and Museum’s Boat Builder to coordinate and organise waterfront experiences, ensuring excellent communication with community stakeholders and partners, and safe and engaging visitor experiences. These may include boat-building programs, visiting ship collaborations, activities related to waterfront festivals/event partnerships, planning to support the development of the Canadian Maritime Heritage District, Boat School, on-the-water experiences, programs in support of the CSS Acadia Interpretive Masterplan, and other activities.As the Coordinator, this position assists with the coordination of volunteers and assists the Curator of Visitor Experience.This position reports to the Manager of Interpretation.Primary Accountabilities
