Reporting to the Director, Medical Research Development Office ( MRDO ), the Coordinator of Research Training & Support provides vision and leadership in the delivery of effective and timely education on research and professional development to help learners excel in their research careers.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops, oversees and manages all medical research trainee programs for post-graduate medical residents, research support programs and continuing research and professional education for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research assistants.Responsible for the ongoing development, administration and evaluation of the Professional and Research Education Program, including the development and management of a Dalhousie certificate for this program.Management and oversight of the Clinician Investigator Program, Medical Research Graduate Program, and Summer Student Research Program including the acceptance of new students into these programs, as well as advising students on program requirements and research strategies.Provides strategic advice to the MRDO team related to programs and build and maintain effective working relationships with researcher-related faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research assistants and staff at Dalhousie.NoteHybrid role: The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.Dalhousie’s vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and with diverse teams. Proven organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills, and attention to detail are required.
