We’re hiring solution-minded people excited to help us grow into the future. We are currently looking to fill the position of Project Coordinator (Telecom).Accountabilities:

  • Keeping track of the project financial data (including project budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly accruals), creating requisitions and processing invoices.
  • Tracking purchase orders for equipment and material deliveries
  • Coordination of material shipments to work sites
  • Coordination of field installation work between contractors, field crews, field supervisors, engineering, etc.
  • Coordination with internal system (GIS, ADMS, Oracle, etc…)
  • Maintaining project information including project files, SharePoint sites, and directory structures;
  • Maintaining project procedures for activity tracking, managing the procedures, creating tracking sheets and tracking deliverable status;
  • Creating & maintaining project SharePoint sites to manage critical project documentation and workflow processes;
  • Arranging meetings with user groups, preparing electronic presentations and spreadsheets;
  • Maintain and ensure project schedules and reporting are met;
  • Prepare project status reports to the Project Manager;
  • Document meeting minutes, produce action plans and follow-up on action items;
  • Manage logistics for project related activities;
  • Provides overall administrative support to the project;
The Project Coordinator will ensure effective communication with key project stakeholders, assist in monitoring of project performance and escalate risks and issues to the Project Manager to ensure appropriate action is taken.You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.Skills, Capabilities and Experience:As the successful candidate, you have a University degree (or community college/ technical degree) from an accredited post-secondary institute and/or a recognized project management certification or equivalent experience (project management certification is not required but would be beneficial, this role will be more administrative than management). You have a solid understanding of, and experience with; project planning, financial tracking and document/records management. You are able to work on multiple projects and manage priorities. You have effective communication and strong organizational skills. You are a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes. You have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are attentive to detail. You are detail-oriented and have strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills are required. You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge of current office procedures and possess proficient typing and computer utilization skills. You have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point, Project SharePoint and Outlook). Experience with Oracle, Maximo, SAP or other business warehousing tools would be an asset.At Nova Scotia Power our employees are our greatest strength.
