Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.Job SummaryThis position would be jointly supporting the Faculty of Health and the Faculty of Dentistry. Reporting to the Communications Manager, Faculty of Dentistry, and working closely with the Communications Director, Faculty of Health, the Digital Content Creator is responsible for creating compelling photography, videography, audio, and written content to help tell their stories and inform partners.Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, source, and curate photo, video, audio, and written content to support Faculty of Dentistry and Health campaigns, social media channels, and print materials.
  • Work closely with the Faculty of Dentistry communications manager and the director of communications for the Faculty of Health to produce create clear, compelling, brand-aligned, and newsworthy content about students, staff, faculty, alumni, and donors, suited to a broad audience across multiple platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to generate content in innovative formats, across a wide range of communications platforms to enhance the Faculties’ brands.
  • Develop scripts, storyboards, and shot lists to assist with communications projects. Effectively and efficiently build and manage the digital asset platforms for each Faculty.
  • Assess, develop, and implement the visual aspects of the website (photography and video) to ensure that visual identity guidelines are met.
  • Complete the necessary training in website content development, information architecture, and technical training (AEM/Touch UI) to manage and support the Faculties in the Dal-wide transition from the AEM Classic to Touch UI platforms.

  • Undergraduate degree and/or diploma in a relevant field, such as photography, videography, media arts, screen arts, with a minimum of three years’ recent and related occupational experience as a photographer, videographer, and editor (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required to develop relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, and attention to detail, by ensuring content created is on-brand and consistently meets the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Manage multiple timelines in a deadline driven environment.
  • Skilled in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).
