The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Dalhousie School of Health Sciences Director, this multi-faceted role encompasses curriculum/program development, implementation and evaluation. Program design, research, development, teaching, evaluation, advisory and disciplinary action as well as continuous quality improvement are mandated for both academic and clinical programming. Continuous professional development with clinical focus, academic advances and theory are critical to the role of an Educator. The responsibilities, integration and synthesis of this position must be in accordance with Accreditation Canada (EQual tm) accreditation standards and Dalhousie University Academic Governance.QualificationsWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor in Health Science or relevant degree required
  • Master’s degree in health-related discipline or education preferred or willing to complete
  • Active practicing License with NSCMIRTP required
  • Current Sonography Canada membership (and/or ARDMS) is required
  • Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience in cardiac ultrasound required
  • Clinical Experience in Cardiac Sonography within the last 3 years preferred
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification required
  • Generalist sonography credentials (CRGS or equivalent) are required
  • Cardiac credentials (CRCS or equivalent) are required
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • University level curriculum development experience is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated research capacity & productivity is considered an asset
  • University level teaching experience is considered an asset
  • Student supervision experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult teaching and learning & experience in facilitating learning activities is considered an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
