Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.Job SummaryManagement Career Services (MCS) within the Faculty of Management, provides work-integrated learning opportunities and career education for students in the Corporate Residency MBA, Bachelor of Commerce Co-op, and Bachelor of Management programs. Reporting to the Director, Management Career Services, the Employer Development Manager will lead employer partner and market development strategy to meet the needs of student employment for MCS programs.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a comprehensive employer partner development strategy to meet new graduate, co-op, and internship student employment needs for programs supported by MCS.
  • Oversee employer development team and lead new employer market development strategy,
  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to entire MCS team concerning employer partner relationship management.
  • Oversee employer development marketing and communications strategy and foster the collaboration between career services and co-op offices at Dalhousie.
  • Serve as a member of the Management Career Services Leadership Team and serve as the Acting Director of Management Career Services, when requested.
NoteThe successful applicant will work in-person on campus until they’ve successfully completed their probationary period. They may then continue to work in-person on campus, primarily remotely (with occasional presence in-person on-campus), or perform a hybrid of the two as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements.Dalhousie’s vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination. However, health and safety risks to our community will continue to be monitored and a vaccine mandate may be reinstated if necessary.Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, plus five to seven years experience in a sales environment, employment and recruitment or a relevant field (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Experience and demonstrated success in managing, supervising and motivating team members to achieve performance goals.
  • Professionalism, maturity, and credibility with proven ability to engage and convince decision makers and create long term relationships.
  • Ability to communicate with, and understand the business needs of, a diverse range of employers and industries.
  • Demonstrated success in strategy development and implementation.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and operate effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to engage and establish collaborations with key internal and external partners to support employer development objectives and activities.
  • Commitment to excellence in meeting employment needs of post-secondary students.
  • Public speaking, presentation, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management and customer service skills.
