Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.Job SummaryThe Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Coordinator, Enrolment Services, the Enrolment Services Specialist acts as the primary resource for front counter patrons at the Registrar’s Office.Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and advise patrons in person and via email on a wide range of university and academic regulations, policies, procedures, deadlines, fees, student aid programs etc.; screen, assess and respond to inquiries, complaints, concerns, etc.
  • Receive and verify loan and financial aid documents in person and electronically; liaise with student aid and financial institution personnel and distribute student aid cheques.
  • Intake, process and distribute a variety of documents and transaction forms with appropriate explanations. Verify and authorize completed forms and documents.
  • Assist previous and current Dalhousie students and students with letters of permission from external institutions with enrolment; verify all letters of permission forms for Dalhousie students as well as process requests for transcripts, letters of confirmation and major changes.
  • Collect fees and process Registrar’s Office deposits, ensuring accuracy of the amount received.
NoteDue to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.Dalhousie’s vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination. However, health and safety risks to our community will continue to be monitored and a vaccine mandate may be reinstated if necessary.Required Qualifications
  • Business/Office Administration diploma with approximately five years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with integrated administrative systems (i.e. SARS, Web-Xtender).
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), organizational and customer service skills.
Assets
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Familiarity with the Banner PROD software package and academic regulations.
